American School of London - 4th February 2026

We had a very lively and entertaining debating session yesterday. We started with the news before moving swiftly on to the topic of using animals for testing and the ethics of this. All the students had strong opinions which they were able to articulate successfully. 

We moved onto talking about SpaceX, which led to a debate on ‘ This house believes we should ban the use of AI.’

We were so impressed by the students ability to swiftly form four powerful arguments for their side. There were some harsh POIs, but these were swiftly and deftly dealt with on both sides! Our skill of the week was to deliver a speech with confident body language and charisma: everyone did this exceptionally well. 

There was a palpable and infectious energy In the room and it was wonderful to see everybody take part with such confidence.
