An excellent week at Chepstow House!
Our sessions could easily have gone on for the same length again, with lots of enthusiasm across topics and discussion points.
Our skills this week have looked at strong opening statements to grab the attention of an audience. Our main/central motion motion was, 'do smart phones actually make us smarter?' The maturity with which the students approached this was impressive and our debates were nuanced.
A few older siblings have set a great example but a few have illustrated the time lost that most of us adults are all too familiar with. A lot of children only have access to educational games and believe they would be ready for a smart phone only as an older teenager.
The dangers of social media, AI, and our reliance on Google were explained and everyone should be proud of their hard work this week!
