Dr George Gross

St Andrew's School - 10th June

This week the session began with a discussion of POIs and the way in which they should/can be used in debating, an element which was brought into use, successfully, later on in our session by many of the group. We put forward an interview question, regarding space travel and a number of students made some thoughtful points, including cost and fitness levels required, thus making it inaccessible and unlikely for all. We discussed recent news points, such as D-Day and why it is celebrated today, Trump's court proceedings and the sad disappearance and death of Michael Mosley. Our main debate point was whether the UK should continue to have nuclear weapons, with a real divide in opinions in the class, many making reference to our current relationship with other nations and further impact that it could have.

Well done all on a great session.
