Chepstow House School - Autumn Term 2025 Update

ree

We have had a great few weeks of debating at Chepstow House with students from Years 2, 3, 5 & 6 all actively participating in debates and even suggesting their own motions such as 'This House believes that children should not have mobile phones' and 'This House would ban homework'.

We have also covered a range of current environmental, social and political topics, including inter alia whether Donald Trump should have been given a state visit to the UK and whether the public should be allowed to witness such events in person, as well as whether museums should remain free or have an entry charge and whether we should be eating more seasonally.

We have also covered a range of debating techniques, from body language, to style and tone and proposition and summary speaking, and all students have grown in confidence in their speeches over the past weeks.

Very well done all!
