A fantastic Socratic Club and Nimble Minds collaboration this week. The group should all be incredibly proud of their efforts in our debates. They spoke eloquently and enthusiastically. We dove right into our favourite subjects: hearing about everything from easy mathematics to exciting scientific experiments. This segued into our first debate on the motion: 'Is Science More Important Than Art?' A lively back and forth between proposition and opposition ensued, with all speaking confidently and raising excellent points from art combining science and imagination, to how would we live without medicine? After an active vocabulary break we dove back in… to junk food on the motion: 'Should All Junk Food Be Banned?' An impassioned debate covering added sugar, deliciousness, health and affordability followed! An excellent session all!
