This was a fantastic session in which the students reviewed and put into practice their presentation skills and the three pillars of compelling debate. Their arguments about tax were strengthened by their use of evidence, stories and questions.
Building upon what we covered last week, the students were eager to participate and to continue exploring these three skills.
We moved onto the recent tax cuts and watched a short clip from HMRC giving an overview about tax. In the subsequent conversation about the video, students elevated their arguments by incorporating evidence and stories. This led us into a debate; were students for or against tax?
The importance of body language was discussed before a lively debate. Following excellent questions from the audience the students voted in favour of tax (80%/20%).
It was a dynamic and exciting session, well done all!
