St. Kitts International Academy Debating & Public Speaking Club - 25th February 2025

Well done to our St Kitts International Academy debating club on an outstanding session!

Our skill of the week took in Active Listening and it was also great to see so many POIs during our discussions and debates.

This week's newsround took in:

• AI

• The Pope's health

• The potential for a peace deal with the War in Ukraine 

• Federal employment in the USA

Our debates looked at the motions/topics:

• This House believes that technology makes us less intelligent 

• Should all teachers have a teaching qualification?

• Should there be limits to free speech? 

• Should coding be a required subject in school?

• This House thinks that pets are useful and helpful

Further topics focussed on:

• Melting Glaciers

• Role Models - should we have one?

• A new Royal Tomb discovery in Ancient Egypt
