It has been a delight to see the progress of the group this term, not least in the build-up to our next competition. On skills we have looked at unseen work as well as pre-empting opposition/proposition points.
We have discussed the power of AI, with questions around robots, as well as wider interview/philosophical questions, for instance ‘if one had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be and why?’
Our newsrounds have been extensive, from protests in Iran, to an EU trade deal with India, shootings in the US, Holocaust Memorial Day, and Greenland.
Debating motions have included:
· ‘This House would consult with children first before changing the laws on social media/phone use for children’
· ‘This House would ban fast fashion’
· ‘Is it ever ok to copy someone’s work?’
· ‘Is it better to be kind or right?’
· ‘Is it too early for shops to be selling Easter eggs?’
Very well done all!
